Dimensional Ruffle Card

Operation Write Home had the most amazing card tutorial on their blog a couple of days ago. It was a Dimensional Ruffle Card tutorial I fell in love with it and couldn't wait to try it. Love how the choice of my top layer paper made mine look like an awning over a shop.  Check out this link and see if you are inspired to try.

Wish I could give the company names of all the different papers but I just started pulling papers and didn't write them down.
Punch: Martha Stewart ~  Edge Punch Doily Lace
Flower: PaperTrey Ink ~ Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection
Flower Petals: WPLUS9 ~ Folk Art Floral Dies WP9D-014
Sentiment: Hero Arts ~ Truly Appreciated (I cut just the "hello" portion of the stamp to use)

Have a blessed day ~

Old and New

I don't know how "Clean and Simple"  this is but I am entering this in this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

I fell in love with the new Hero Arts Tiny Flags stamp and used it with one of my older Hero Arts Flower Corsage. The background is stamped with Hero Arts Mid-Tone Cornflower and Butter Bar. I added that sweet and rather large "HELLO" die from Simon Says stamp. When I cut it out I used white card stock and decided it look too bland so I went over it with a green from my Paintbox Option Pad by ColorBox. I used Lawn Fawn circle dies for the frame around the flowers. Colored the flowers with copics.

Thank you ever so much for stopping by!

Catch Up

I have been away from my blog for several weeks so I am playing "catch up". I took a couple of weeks to prepare about 50 Easter cards. l used several different brands of stamps but basically the same design.
I didn't have a sentiment stamp that I wanted so I printed this one out and used the Simon Says Stamp Tilted Banners on some of them.

We have so enjoyed the sunshine over the last several days here in south Georgia and hope you are experiencing good weather also.

 Hero Arts: K5376 Hydrangea
Cuttlebug Embossing folder

 The Craft's Meow: Potted Garden
I so enjoyed their stamps and sad that they are no longer in business.

Stampendous: Star Lilies P115

I actually got tired of coloring after about 25 cards so I found some stamps that were solid and stamped them with various inks that I have.
LOVE this Verve Stamp Set: So Fluttery VS-0190
If you have never tried them, take a look at their site:  The Verve Store

Another favorite Hero Arts stamp: Bold Blossoms CL450

Thank you for stopping by and I pray that your Easter was blessed.

Smile

I love this card that Lucy Abrams made with the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month March 2014. I think the kit is sold out but the stamp is available here.

So I just had to totally CASE it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Old Stamps ~ New Inspiration

I have been organizing my stamps using some of the stamp storage that Jennifer McGuire has shown on her blog. As I am doing this, I am pulling out stamps that I have had since I first started making cards in 2006. Yes, I am a hoarder and do not usually let go of many things. I figure I will use it again later.

I have been wanting to order many of the new stamps out by Simon Says Stamp, Avery Elle, Hero Arts - just to name a few. My budget does not allow it right now so when I "rediscovered" these stamps, I decided to use my older stamps and apply new techniques!

Here is a birthday card for our daughter that I used one of my precious Hero Arts stamps. So this time around I used a flower die from PaperTrey Ink instead of coloring in the flower that is on the stamp and the hello die from Simon Says Stamp. I was not using dies back in 2006 :-)

Have a blessed day!

Faux Layered Die Cuts (2)

I tried so hard to make a card using Dry Embossing with Julie Ebersole's directions. LOVED the effect. However, I just did not have in my supplies anything that would work. So I resorted to Faux Layer Die Cuts again from Days 1 and 2.

The first one may not count as one layer but it's close :). I pulled out two of my old Hero Arts background stamps and colored them in and didn't really know what I was going to do with them but as you see as I used the die out of one background stamp to place on the other background stamp - COOL :)

Background stamp: Hero Arts CG439 (Basic Grey) Floral Dot Background ~ stamped with Memento London Fog
Colored in Flowers and Leaves with Copic Markers
Sizzix Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Labels Eighteen
Dies: WPlus9 ~ Folk Art Floral ( LOVE THEM)
Sentiment: Hero Arts - have no clue which set because I pull a lot of my "hello" stamps out and keep them together :(

Now for the second card that I used the die cut background from the above in this one.

Background: Hero Arts CG145 Reverse Flowers and Leaves
Stamped background with Hero Arts Shadow Ink Wet Cement
Colored with Copic Markers
Sentiment: Hero Arts

So glad you stopped by :)

Blessings!
