Butterfly Birthday

I have been very busy making cards but nothing that has "fit" into in Challenge categories. I was playing around today and made this one and realized that Simon Says Stamp Challenge  is all about Dies and/or Punches. I do not have any of their dies and they are to "die" for :) but I have really enjoyed using dies and punches lately. I am gradually adding to my collection. I have lots of birthday friends/family in October so here is one of several that I have made.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Butterflies: Martha Stewart Punches
Leaves: Marthat Stewart and EK Success Punches
Outer scalloped circle: Spellbinders
Inner scalloped circles: Marvy Punches

You Make A Difference

Here is another set of cards that I made with some new stamps. Thank you for stopping by!

The flower and sentiment were stamped and colored and run through my Cuttlebug using the dotted folder. This panel was then attached with glue dots to the card base.

Flower: Penny Black -Petal Party
Sentiment: Verve Stamps - Bloom and Grow
Colored with copic markers

Friends Always

We are starting to get a "little" cooler here in the south. At least we can tell somewhat of a difference in the mornings. I wanted to make some quick cards so I got this Hero Arts cling stamp out and used some fall color inks with the little splash of spring. Spring and fall are my two favorite seasons :)

Thank you for taking a few minutes to stop by!

Blessings to you ~

Life Is Sweeter

Just really having fun with the sketch challenges at Hero Arts August Clean & Simple Stamping & A Sketch Challenge.  Switched up the sentiment a little bit :)

This flower is always so much fun to work with. (HA CL374 "Big and Small Flowers)
Sentiment: HA CL351 "Friends"

Poppies

I received a couple of dies that I had ordered and have not had a chance to play with them until today. I am really pleased with the effect of the Memory Box Tessatina Border. And I was not disappointed with this sweet Memory Box Prim Poppy that I have seen some of you sweet ladies using.

Here is another entry for the Hero Arts August Sketch Challenge using my new "toys".

Life Is Better

I am loving the sketch challenge at Hero Arts Clean and Simple Stamping And A Sketch Challenge for August.

Here are the sketch designs:

ha-august2012-sketches
I used the bottom right sketch and flipped the panel to the left.

The embossed background is a new Sizzix folder #657255. It comes with 2 folders (Flower Clusters & Dotted Flower Rings). I used the Flower Clusters for this one on kraft paper.

Sentiment: HA CL493
Flower: Sizzix/Hero Arts 657851 - I die cut 4 layers on neon cardstock and layered them.
Butterflies: Martha Stewart punch - used neon blue cardstock

That cute little dotted button is from WalMart purchase I mentioned in a previous post.

If I am not too late, I am going to enter this in the A Blog Named Hero: The Krafty Crafter Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by! Blessings to you!

WooHoo

I was playing around with this Hero Arts Owl Stamp and came up with this. So I think I will enter this in A Blog Named Hero Challenge The Krafty Crafter

Thank you for stopping by!

It is difficult to tell but the background is a Paper Studio Embossing folder that named "Woodgrain" (the sentiment shows it clearer).
Owl: Hero Arts K5574
Sentiment: Paper Smooches - Chubby Chums

I colored this cute little owl with my Prismacolor Pencils.

Thought for the day:

Hydrangeas

This is my third post for the day with a card. I think I just set a record for myself. Playing with another sketch that Hero Arts has for their August Clean and Simple Stamping and a Sketch Challenge.

I used this sweet hydrangea stamp (Hero Arts K5376) that I don't use very often and masked it. They were colored with copics. The background is a combination of Distress Inks Tumbled Glass and Wild Honey. I did not intend on having the predominantly green look across the top but as I started blending the top and bottom section I got this greenish color so I went with it :) The sentiment is HA CL305. I have it raised with pop dots but you can't tell that too much from the picture. There is paper lace above the scalloped bottom.

Hero Arts August Sketch Challenge

I have had some time today to play around with my card stuff :) I have seen a lot of great cards in the Flickr Hero Arts group for the Hero Arts August sketch challenge.

Here is my take on one of the sketches:

One of the exciting things for me while putting this together is that I had picked up 3 or 4 packs of Paula Deen 6x6 papers at Michael's in their $1 bin and I used the blue striped background from one of the packs! Thought that was pretty cool! The orange panel is from Studio Calico Memoir Collection. You can't tell from the picture but I have the panel raised and used some Recollections Foam Adhesive "Strips". They come in a pack of strips 1/4" on one side and 1/2" on the other side. They are 5 1/2' long. That was another surprise purchase accident for me too!

The flower is one of my Hero Arts favorite: CL374 and colored with copics BG07 and BG05.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts CL380 (I cut off the "hello" from the Just saying hello sentiment)

I used Broken China around the edges of the blue striped paper and Wild Honey around the orange pattern paper panel.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Blessings to you!

Have A Beautiful Day

CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week is Splish Splash. We were able to spend a week at the beach this year with family. Our favorite thing to do is just sit on the beach and watch the tides roll in and out. So peaceful!

Here is my take on the challenge. Thank you for stopping by!

Those cute little flip flops are from Hero Arts CL512 and the sentiment is Hero Arts CL270. I also found some little butterflies that fit perfectly on the flip flops. I used distress inks Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans for the sky and Vintage photo and Antique Linen for the sand. Spread some gold glitter across the bottom to give some dimension to the "sand" effect. The sun is a button that I had on hand.

Thought for the day:

Sending Warm Wishes

Another card for today. This one is for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge using lime, aqua and navy. Believe it or not the navy part was kind of difficult.

I got the idea for the sun from Jennifer McGuire here. The kites are from an older set (CL445) but I still love to pull them out. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the background using a mask I had made from one of my Hero Arts stamps with clouds - sorry that I don't remember the exact stamp (I actually think it may be a mask I made from the clouds background wood stamp.) Glossy Accents on the sun and the kites. Sentiment is Hero Arts CL613.

Thank you for stopping by!

Love U

The Play Date Cafe Challenge is all about cobalt, goldenrod and peony!

Here is my take on it. I really struggled with an idea and the colors but it turned out a lot better than I thought. The photo is not nearly as clear and sharp as it is when I am able to take the picture outside.

Supplies: Stamp - Stampabilities (Decorative Love  ER1116); Picket fence (Michael's); Hearts (WalMart-Wooden Shapes)

You can't tell from the photo but there is Glossy Accents on the hearts.

Copic Markers used on sentiment and all wood chips.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Blessings to you!

Happy Birthday Cone

I saw this button challenge on Lin's blog that she is participating in so thought I would give it a try.

This is for The Ribbon Reel Challenge "Button It".

The ice cream cone was made from two different templates I found on line. I ran the top and bottom through a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities ES-006 (Hexagons on one side and zig zag on the other.)

Believe it or not I found these cute buttons at Walmart :)

The sentiment is Hero Arts CL139. I use it a lot because it just the right size for small sliders. The slider is one of four in a set by Cuttlebug (37-1215 Sliders).

Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings to you!

You Make My Heart Happy

Moxie Fab World has a Hooked on Hexagons Challenge which ends July 30. Check it out!

Here is my entry:

Since I do not have any hexagon dies or stamps, I went online and found some templates here. I also decided I wanted to use gingham paper and believe it or not I did not have the color I wanted so I remembered that I had downloaded some free digi gingham papers some time back. So - - - I printed some gingham papers and then ran them through the printer with the hexagon template.

I also found a template for the heart online here.

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is Hero Arts CL129.

I am going to enter this in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Back in Black also.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Blessings to you!

Thought For The Day:
"Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will JOY in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills."

Odds and Ends

I have been taking an online card class but have not been able to get my mojo going in the direction of the the class techniques. I find it difficult to be creative when I HAVE to be creative :) So I have just backed off and pulled out stamps and started stamping and here are a couple of them.

Thank you for stopping by!

Blessings to you!
