Punches and Dies

Well when I said earlier that I was going to stretch and challenge myself to venture out to other card challenges, I didn't realize that I felt fairly comfortable with at least two of them.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge this week is punchy ~ meaning punches and dies.

Here is my card:

Supplies: Sizzix embossing folder, Hero Arts/Sizzix flower die, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Hero Arts Sentiment

The embossed background is attached with pop dots to give it dimension and the flower die is layered 7 times to give it dimension. (This was a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared.).

Enjoy your day!

You Deserve A Cupcake

How about another birthday card for Hero Arts May Challenge! I think cupcakes are especially yummy at a birthday party and so much fun to make.

Everything on this card came from Hero Art CL382.

Used some Memento and Tombow markers to color the cupcakes and the hat on the bird.
Stamped the background balloon with Hero Hues Punch Ink.
The cute little bird was stamped on yellow dot paper and gave him some crazy eyes :)
Cupcakes are sprinkled with glitter. Glossy Accents on the candle flame.

Thank you for stopping by!

Let's Go Cruising

I love this set of stamps from Hero Arts. It is so difficult for me to make masculine cards and this set has made it a lot easier. Part of the Hero Arts May Challenge is birthday cards. I was able to make several using this stamp and will be sharing them.

The background paper for the card and the car are from Recollections Bright and Basic. I got the Polaroid template from here.

Old Car: HA CL478, colored with copics, Glossy Accents on windows and headlights.
Sentiment: HA CL139

Thank you for stopping by! Blessings to you!

More Birthday Happiness

We are experiencing some true spring weather here in South Georgia for a change. Thought for a while that we were going to go directly from a very mild winter into a very hot summer! So thankful for the crispness of the morning. I am rambling :)

Another card for the Hero Arts May Challenge.

I used the HA CL576 set for the card. The balloon stamp was stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves for the background. I stamped the cake on yellow, orange, and blue card stock and paper pieced candles and cake. There is glossy accents on the white sections of the cake and candles.

I am loving this seam binding. Used copic markers to color 3 strips across the bottom. Always got to have some bling :)

Thank you for stopping by! Mother's Day Blessings to You!

Flowers and Butterflies

Probably two of my favorite type of stamps to work with are flowers and butterflies. Here is what I came up with for Hero Arts monthly contest. For this I card I used their color challenge project with any theme. The "chocolate" color really made me pause and think how I could incorporate it with the other colors.

Background: HA S5447 Large Plaid Pattern stamped in Mememto Tangelo, used Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drops Ink for accent color on top of the stamp
Stamped HA K5280Large Dot Flourish with Memento Bamboo Leaves
Flowers: HA CG289 Layered Flower ~ stamped on card stock and only used the top two layers. You can't tell from the photo but I used dimension dots between the layers.
Butterflies: HA LP215 Three Artistic Butterflies stamped on kraft paper
Sentiment: HA CL184 Sayings & Quotes, used Spellbinders Labels 14 and shaded center with Jenni Bowlin Speckled Egg Ink
Some bling for the butterflies and flowers!

Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Balloons and Birthdays

Balloons, cake and party hats! That's what I think of when I think of birthdays. Here is another entry for the Hero Arts monthly contest.

I used the Wish Big set again for this one. Stamped the balloons several times on different color card stock and paper pieced. Glossy Accents on the balloons. Colored the seam binding with copic marker.

Thank you for stopping by and have a glorious day!

This Was Different

This month's themes on the Hero Arts Blog are Birthdays along with a Color Challenge and the technique is Interactive Cards. So here is my first entry.

I recently purchased the Dot Flower Pattern (CG335) and stamped it with black ink to see what I wanted to do with the flowers. Since the stamp is slightly smaller than a standard 4.25 x 5.5 card base it left a white border. I changed my mind about coloring the flowers yet the background looked pretty blah to me. I decided to sue some of the special Target Colored Tape that Susan sent me. I used a solid color and striped one in the gold/orange and laid the tape diagonal across the background and VOILA!

Cupcake: HA CL576 (Wish Big) - paper pieced the cupcake and glossy accents on the heart.
Sentiment is from the same stamp set.
Ribbon is seam binding colored with copic marker.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!
