A Joy to Love

I have been thinking of those who are a joy to love.  They are so much fun to be around - full of life and always glad to see me! They just make me smile when I think about them. I know you have them in your life.

"Thoughts of you always make me smile."
I used the large and small dotted flower in HA CG291. Sentiment is HA CL 231 Happy Hello. Used Scattered Straw to ink the background of the small label. Some Glossy Accents on the flower and a little hemp jewelry cord on the button. Went around the edge with a black pen to make the dashed line.

Hope you are smiling because you are thinking of someone who is a JOY to love!

Thought for the Day:
A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
   but heartache crushes the spirit.

Hope Gives Us Courage

I love to make cards with flowers. When I am browsing stamps, I tend to always stop and look at the flower stamps closer. This stamp caught my eye along with a couple of others at PaperTrey Ink. I had to have it.

It has been so much fun to work with. The card idea was from there too. I am leading a group of wonderful women in Beth Moore's Loving Well study and I have been sending them a card to encourage them as we learn to love well.

Thought For The Day:
You will keep in perfect peace
   those whose minds are steadfast,
   because they trust in you.

Just Coloring and Stamping

Here are a few cards I made over the weekend. This first one was one that I saw in a card making magazine that I subscribe to. I loved the background and discovered from the description that it was patterned paper. Since there was no way I would be able to find that paper, I decided to make my own patterned paper :-). I was really pleased with the outcome. Wish I could give credit to the designer. I tore the page out of the magazine and put it in my file folder so I don't even remember which publication it was. Do you do that? :-)

The background was made by stamping the party hats (Hero Arts LP160 Party Time) and (Recollections Clear Stamps ~ Zoo-Licious) and coloring them with copics. I then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China for the background color.

The rest was layering blue, green and striped papers. The top "Happy Birthday" layer has pop dots under it. There is another layer of green and blue before you get to the striped layer - yep lots of layering!

The sentiment is HA CL139. The candles are an old Stampabilities D1060. I colored them and then added white dots with my gel pen.

Both of these have the HA K5361 Flower Medley stamped. The one on the left is stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Pink and the other Soft Leaf.
The sentiment on the left is HA CL140 and the one on the right is HA CL139.

Thank you for stopping by!

Thought for the day:
"This is love: not that we loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

Warm thoughts on a cool day

We are having some more cool weather here in the south. There actually may be some snow flurries Sunday. I have spent most of the morning organizing my craft room and making a couple of cards. For some reason my creativity skills were very lacking so I struggled piece by piece but here it is. Turned out pretty good.

May God grant you always . . . A sunbeam to warm you. A moonbeam to charm you. A sheltering angel so nothing can harm you. Laughter to cheer you. Faithful friends near you.
Hero Arts CL495 Blossom Art - colored with copics
Hero Arts CG139 Cling Dots - used Hero Hues Iris
Masked the flower and used Penny Black 30-032 Enjoy Life using Distress Ink Peeled Paint
Glossy Accents on flower blossom
Ribbon, Button with Twine and some bling, bling!
Thought For The Day:
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Catching Up On Thank Yous!

We are so blessed that people thought of us during the Christmas season and blessed us with the sweetest expressions of love. We treasure them in our hearts.

Here are a couple of Thank You cards I have made to show our appreciation for their love and thoughtfulness:

The sentiment is Hero Arts CL490 Sending Smiles Messages. The flower is a digital from Tiffany Doodles - Dahlia. Colored with Copics. Some Distress Ink around the edges of the sentiment.

Again the sentiment is from Hero Arts CL490 Sending Smiles Messages. The flower and leaves are Hero Arts CL495 - colored with copics. Butterfly is a Hero Arts Digital Flutterbies - colored with copics. In the picture below you can see better where I cut part of the front and let the sentiment be on the inside of the card but showing.

Thank you for stopping by.

Thought for the day:
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

Loving Well

I have the privilege to lead 25 women in a Beth Moore Bible Study "Loving Well" beginning next Sunday. I wanted to get something together pretty quickly to send to them to encourage them as we prepare to meet together over the next four weeks.

I was inspired by the cards that Tiffany Ervin and Joy Taylor made using some of the new Hero Arts stamps. Thank you ladies for the inspiration.

Here is what I came up with

A close up of one of the many I prepared.

Background: HA CG119 - Flourish Background, used Hero Hues Poppy, Iris, Grass, Cerulean, Poppy
Flower Stamp: HA CL495 - Blossom Art - Colored with copics, Leaves were stamped on Printed Papers
Sentiment: HA CL380 Truly Appreciated (I used 4 of the sentiments on the cards)
Nestabilities
Thought For The Day:
"But I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me."
