Summer Card Camp Week 1 Window Card

I am sure enjoying my online class with Jennifer and Kristina. Lots of wonderful cards in the student gallery too!
This is my first window card! Tried to use the clear film but I did not have any Staz On Ink and I found out in a hurry that regular ink does not work - or at least it did not work for me.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Lots of pattern paper
Sentiment: HA CL434
Kites & Clouds: HA CL445 - I used embroidery floss for the tail
Glitter on the clouds
White gel pen to accent dots on the kites
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels 9

Thought For A Day:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid and do not be discouraged, the LORD
your God will be with you wherever you go.

Summer Card Camp 2011 Week 1

Such fun participating in this online card class.  Making me stretch my imagination!
I am enjoying being challenged with colors that I do not usually put together. Here is another card that I made for this first week of Summer Card Camp being hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.

Background: HA CL496 colored with copics
Large Flower: HA CL496 combination of patterned papers with top part of flower popped up
Leaves: HA CL496 on patterned paper
Martha Stewart Border Punch

Hope to try the window card sometime this week - that will definitely be out of my comfort zone :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!

Thought for the day:
1 Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:1-5

Just Sharing

Here are a few cards I prepared this past week and have not had time to post. If you are here from the Summer Card Camp scroll down to June 27 post to see what I did for Monday's Summer Card.

I always appreciate you taking the time to stop by. Be blessed in your day.

The background is HA CG316. I stamped part of the dots with Hero Arts Soft Leaf and Soft Pink Shadow Ink. (Hard to see in the picture.)  The dies are from one of my Cricut Cartridges (can't remember which one). Cupcake Hero Arts CG151. Sentiment HA CL287. Butterfly is some bling from Michaels.

Thought For The Day
"In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:3-5

Summer Card Camp 2011 Week 1

I am so excited to be a part of this online card class. It is being hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. Our first color challenge is warm shades of purple, pink and orange alongside a sky blue and white.

I was excited about the colors but not sure how I was going to use pink with the orange and purple. However, I was very pleased with how this turned out.

The background is embossed resist (which is the first time I have tried that). I used HA CG19 and the background is Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China.

I used lots of patterned papers for the flower and panel.

Catching Up

We recently had one of our daughters and her children here with us. You stay mighty busy with a 4 year old and a 9 month old granddaughter. Wouldn't trade that time for anything. We are waiting on our daughter from Los Angeles to fly in tonight. More family time :-) I love spending time with our girls!

I've had some time today to play with a couple more of my latest stamps. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I love this new stamp. This was my first time using markers to color on the stamp first and then stamping the paper. I just played around with some Crayola Washable Markers. I was really pleased with the outcome.

Flowers: Hero Arts CG171 Blooming Meadow
Sentiment: Hero Arts CL129 Anytime Messages
MS Butterfly and Border Punch
Glossy Accents on the Butterfly Trail

Another new stamp. It is pretty large. I didn't realize it when I ordered it but I think it is going to be a lot of fun to work with.

Flower: Hero Arts Large Posey S5368 - colored with copics
Leaves: Hero Arts CL496 Layered Flowers (printed paper)
Sentiment: Hero Arts CL184 Sayings & Quotes
MS Butterfly punch
Background: Assorted printed papers
Glossy Accent on center of flower

Again, thank you for stopping by.

I am reading Proverbs with a group of ladies for the month of June. Today's reading was Proverbs 18 so I pulled my thought for the day from there. We never realize the power we have with the words we say. May you be blessed today with words of encouragement.

Thought For The Day:
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Thinking of the Blessing You Are

Two Peas in A Bucket had several wood Hero Arts stamps on sale last week so I couldn't resist and jumped in and bought me several. Here is one I have been admiring for a while - the Meadow Silhouette.

Thank you for stopping by!

I inked the stamp with Hero Hues Cerulean and Grass. Used Spellbinders Labels 4 to die cut the stamp and some orange paper from Cricut Provo Craft Celebrations. The background paper and scallop edge paper is from Stella Rose Gertie Papers.

Sentiment is Hero Arts Cl216 Sparkle Clear: Bunches of Thanks
Hemp Cord
Martha Stewart Buttefly Punch
Scallop Edge punch is Stampin Up (I think)

Thought for the Day:

in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
