February Sketch Challenge

It's not very often that I enter anything in the Hero Arts Sketch Challenge because I seem to have a difficult time trying to come up with something. Well here it is AND it did take me a while to come up with something. I am pretty pleased with the results.

Here is the sketch:

sketch-feb2013

And here is my take on the sketch:

The background is a combination of two Hero Arts background stamps: S5654 Tweed Pattern and CG517 Hexagon Background.
I used Hero Arts NEON BLUE for the Tweed Pattern and Hero Arts NEON PURPLE for the Hexagon Background.

I didn't have a hexagon stamp or die large enough so I downloaded a 1 1/2" pattern and cut it out and colored it with the NEON BLUE ink and then let it dry and white embossed the tweed pattern on it. To make the two smaller circles match in color I used the NEON PURPLE and NEON BLUE inked on white card stock.

Same thing with the purple butterfly (inked with NEON PURPLE) - then I used a Martha Stewart punch. Added bling for the trail.

The banner is Hero Arts Stamp & Cut DI074 - layered white on blue.

Sentiment is Hero Arts CL400.

Thank you so much for taking a look. And as always . . . Blessings to you!
