Shells, Shells, Shells

One of the things I enjoy most about the beach is walking in the early morning to see what wonders God has washed up on the shore. We generally go to Fernandina Beach and one of the items that most people are looking for there is shark teeth. When we first started going in the early 90s, it seems they were much easier to find and larger :) However, with changes to the shoreline and dredging that is done they seem to be smaller and much more difficult to find but it is still the "thing" to do there.

So here are my treasures :)




On this last visit however I became somewhat mesmerized with the shells ~ the colors, the shapes and the brokenness of them.

So when I saw that part of the July Hero Arts Challenge was Summer Adventures, I decided to share this since it is something I truly enjoy when we are at the beach.

  1. Another lovely soft beach card! It was interesting to see your shark's teeth, as they are very common at the beaches where we spend our time in the winter, on the Gulf Coast - Englewood Beach, Stump Pass. My hubs has a huge jar of them! (I prefer the pretty little scallop shells :))
